Meet Mioraahs: the Jewelry Industry's (Lab-Grown) Diamond of the Season

Updated: Sep 27

Nothing catches the eye like a brand built from the ground up by a small team of ambitious women, which is why we are beyond excited to introduce you to Mioraahs, an ethically sourced, female-run, lab-grown diamond brand. Founded eight months ago by Aarushi Khatoria, with the help of her team, Mioraahs has been an avenue of bringing her passion and vision to life. Let’s dive into what sets Mioraahs apart from the rest.

Growing up, Khatoria was always drawn to jewelry and accessorizing, which sparked her drive to create Mioraahs. But beyond the aesthetic appeal, a significant influence on her decision to create the company was her desire to empower women. As a child, Khatoria sought out female role models who were not only strong and independent but who also created their own narratives, such as her mother, Asha Khatoria. As a mother of two, Asha was able to simultaneously raise her children while not losing sight of her own identity and beliefs, which inspired Aarushi to pursue a similar grace in professionalism.

Khatoria firmly believes that buying jewelry is not just a simple transaction or a commodity, but rather a bold statement, a power move, and a way of showing that women are here and capable of treating themselves to luxury. When she began to imagine all the ways she could channel her love of jewelry into something greater, Khatoria became fascinated with the intricate process of creating lab-grown diamonds.

In an industry filled with impersonal interactions that often lack a personal touch, the Mioraahs team places great emphasis on the importance of transparency and building genuine relationships with each customer. Their approach is rooted in the belief that every transaction should be viewed as "a partnership." Mioraahs’ teams are composed entirely of women, with creative director Angelina Xie and content director Dylan Mcafee working closely alongside Khatoria herself. They share the belief that when you purchase a diamond for yourself or a loved one, it’s much more than just acquiring a stone; it's an investment your style and confidence. As Khatoria so aptly puts it: "Who could hate diamonds?"

All of Mioraahs' diamonds are lab-grown and sustainably created in a specialized lab based in India. A major draw to lab-grown diamonds is that they have the same chemical composition and physical properties as natural diamonds, but they are produced under conditions far more ethical than those involved in traditional diamond mining. Instead of being harvested from the earth, these diamonds start as tiny slivers taken from mined diamonds and are placed in temperature-controlled rooms to grow. Depending on the desired size and shape, it takes anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks for a diamond to fully develop in a lab. The goal at Mioraahs is to create diamonds that are not only well-made but also built to last, making them "an investment in yourself," as Khatoria describes.

The brand’s pieces are lightweight and classic, designed with a focus on everyday wearability; they are easy to put on and versatile enough to pair with everything in your wardrobe. Each piece is either set in 14-Karat solid gold or 14-Karat gold-plated options, giving you the flexibility to choose between the perfect blend of luxury and value within a cohesive collection. In tandem with the meticulous creation of the diamonds themselves, the debut launch was curated to embody the timeless idea of "eternal grace." Creating the drop was "a labor of love," inspired not only by Khatoria’s personal muses but also by the people she holds dear. In fact, Khatoria’s mother played a significant role in designing some of the pieces in the upcoming collection.

The collection’s pieces focus on harmony and connectivity, with each one designed to be layered with each other. The carats are carefully sized to strike the perfect balance—elegant enough to make a statement, yet not so large as to be deemed too ostentatious for everyday wear. One of the CEO’s favorite pieces is the two-stone, cushion-cut, pear-shaped ring, which she considers the perfect accessory to elevate and complete any look.

Wondering where to shop? Mioraahs' inaugural collection will be available on their website this coming weekend. But if you’re like us, you might be thinking, "I wish I could see all these pieces in person."
