The Divine Feminine: It's more than just a quality; it's a powerful connection to the sacred power of earth and nature. This intense and overpowering feminine quality is a symbol of timeless and idealized feminine nature. It's a message to the world that beauty is not just a superficial trait, but a profound essence that resides within all of us.
At Vogue World: Paris this year, many designers showed us divine feminine, and the looks were outstanding, elegant, and, above all, simply gorgeous. The reason I set out to write this article was because, as feminine as some of our clothing might be, and as much as we display feminine beauties in places like the Met Museum and numerous extravagant red carpets, there is a particular distinction between something being 'girly' and something representing the divine feminine. There is often a strong misconception that to be feminine is to be more effeminate or merely stereotypical.
The exciting thing about Vogue World: Paris this year was that it reminded us of true femininity, a concept of strength, beauty, passion, excitement, and any other explicable emotion that could be expressed through these looks from the weekend. Femininity has turned into an emblem of weakness when, in reality, it is so much more than what some might deem an insult. It is a symbol of greatness, and it is so crucial for women and young girls to channel it in their way; it is their strength and power, and Vogue did a beautiful job representing that power with traditionally feminine outfits alongside all types of silhouettes, further incorporating unity with its extravagant looks.
Starting strong, we have Sabrina Carpenter in Jacquemus, who has a custom line of swimwear designed for each model. Carpenter is the queen of feminine silhouettes, with a long history of very girly pieces during her events and performances. She has always been one to embrace femininity in a timeless way, which has inspired so many designers and much of her audience as well. As Sabrina has risen to fame over the years, from her Disney journey to her highly successful career in the music industry, Carpenter has always maintained a delicate and graceful style. She channels very timeless and retro pieces.
One unexpected trend that emerged on the Vogue World carpet was the prevalence of red, a color usually associated with the cooler months. In her Rick Owens ensemble, Emma Chamberlain was a striking example of how red can be solid and beautiful, a perfect fit for the event.
